Abstract

The paper shows the results of an empirical study of B2c WAP applications in Italy, and seeks to: 1. identify all significant public B2c WAP sites in Italy; 2. analyse the types of application provided by these sites (news, information, chat, directories, etc); and 3. evaluate the effectiveness of such applications, expressly taking account of the opportunities and limitations of current MI technologies. In support of objectives 2 and 3, the paper proposes original frameworks to classify and assess Mobile Internet applications.
