Abstract

To address psychosocial risks of cardiovascular disease, we integrated on-the-body sensors with mobile therapies for "just-in-time" stress management. Breathing visualizations and cognitive reappraisal cues appeared on the cell phone when a wireless ECG detected deviations from an individuals' baseline heart rate variability. Reactions from participants validated this concept and highlighted the need for a broader array of therapies and applications that could be shared within relationships and communities.
