Abstract

This paper aims to identify and analyze the status of the development of mobile apps offered by Brazilian state governments and the Federal District. For this purpose, we have developed an exploratory research with a quantitative approach in order to describe the current scenario and the general characteristics of the mobile apps published by the executive agencies at the state level on Google Play. In addition, the study analyzes the functionalities and the maturity level of the SuperApp. We analyzed 97 mobile apps distributed on 32 pages of state agencies on Google Play. This research is justified as a preliminary study that can help government decision-making about the types of distribution chosen to offer this initiative when considering mobile apps as potential tools for communication, information exchange, and the relationship between citizens and the public sector.
