Abstract

Technically difficult colonoscopy leading to incomplete procedures occur in 1-10% of cases and depends on patient gender, age, and prior medical/surgical history, and proceduralist training and experience. Utility of single and double balloon scopes in achieving completion in such patients is well established. However, they are available only at specialized centers, and require additional financial investment and training. Upper endoscopes are ubiquitous in endoscopy units. This series explores the use of upper endoscope to achieve complete colonoscopy in technically difficult and prior incomplete colonoscopies.
