Abstract
A total dose of 4-L-PEG administered the day before colonoscopy has proved to be safe and effective for colonic cleansing. However, compliance and acceptability are limited in some cases because of large volume of solutions. Low-volume bowel preparations have been developed with the aim to improve compliance. LoVol-esse (Promefarm, Italy) is a new, reduced-volume PEG-based bowel preparation recently commercially available for colonoscopy cleansing, designed to improve patient compliance and tolerability.
