Abstract

Colorectal cancer (CRC) is the second leading cause of cancer death in the United States with approximately 150,000 new cases every year. Flat adenomas are known to have an increased risk of harboring high-grade dysplasia which may progress to invasive adenocarcinoma. Computed tomographic colonography (CTC), is an evolving technique for CRC screening and its use has been a heated topic of debate in the medical community. The reported efficacy of CTC has shown variable results especially in the detection of flat polyps.
