Abstract
A new grading classification for pancreatic neuroendocrine tumors (pNET) was proposed by the World Health Organization (WHO) in 2010 (2010 WHO classification). pNET are classified as neuroendocrine tumors (NET) G1, NET G2, and neuroendocrine carcinoma (NEC) based on the proliferative indices. It has been shown that EUS-FNA is useful to diagnose several types of pancreatic tumors histologically, but it is still controversial whether EUS-FNA using a 22-gauge (G) needle is useful to diagnose pNET.
