Abstract

A pancreatic fluid collection (PFC) is a mature collection of pancreatic fluid encased by reactive granulation tissue that can occur as a complication of acute pancreatitis. Patients with symptomatic PFC's can be managed medically or through surgical, percutaneous, or endoscopic intervention. Drainage by endoscopic ultrasound(EUS) guidance has shown to have a low complication rate with high success rate, and is being performed commonly for adults in centers with interventional EUS expertise. The outcomes of EUS guided drainage of PFC's in the adult population has been studied extensively, however less is known in the pediatric population.
