Abstract
Metallic stents for malignant biliary obstruction are susceptible to occlusion by tumor ingrowth or overgrowth. Thus, we previously reported a metallic stent covered with a paclitaxel-incorporated membrane to prevent occlusion from tumor ingrowth by antitumor effect. We have also developed the new generation paclitaxel-eluting biliary stent using nano capsule structure for effective drug delivery. The aim of this study is to investigate the safety and efficacy in drug delivery of paclitaxel-eluting stent using nano particles in biliary tract.
