Abstract

nCLE is a new imaging technique, enabling microscopic observation of the inner wall of pancreatic cysts, in vivo and in real-time, during an EUS-FNA procedure. This additional information might help characterize the nature of lonely pancreatic cystic lesions and overcome some of the imaging modalities limitations. A prospective multicenter French study (CONTACT) aims at establishing a classification of criteria for the characterization of pancreatic cystic neoplasms by describing the nCLE patterns for serous cystadenoma (SCA) and mucinous cystadenoma neoplasm (MCN) based on correlations with pathologic features. Intraductal papillary mucinous neoplasm (IPMN) characteristics on nCLE were previously described in the INSPECT trial.
