Abstract
The effect of simeticone (Sim) in bowel preparation in colonoscopy is controvertial. There are affirmative reports for Sim such as shortening of the time needed for the colonoscopy (Z Gastroenterol 1995) and improvement for visiability (World J Gastroneterol 2009), However there are some reports with no effect. In 2017, multicenter, randomized controlled trial showed marked improvement of adenoma detection rate from 14.3% to 20.0% by using Sim (Endoscopy 2017). However, there is no study comparing the additional effects with Sim for each endoscopist. We hypothesized that the additional effect of Sim differs by endoscopist, and conducted this single center, endoscopist-blinded cohort study
