Abstract
Investigations with acrolien and methacrolein at Mo/V-mixed oxides revealed that this solid-phase system is very suitable for the partial oxidation of both educts to the corresponding carboxylic acids. This work studies the applicability of Mo/V-mixed oxides for the partial oxidation of isobutyraldehyde to methacrolein and compares the results with the catalytic performance of a heteropolyacid-catalyst.
