Abstract
The crystal structure of Mo 3P 5SiO 19 has been determined from single-crystal X-ray diffraction data. Mo 3P 5SiO 19 crystallizes in the hexagonal space group P6 3 (No. 173) with a = b = 14.692(4)A˚, c = 7.394(4)A˚, Z = 4, R = 0.043 (R w = 0.034) for 1477 reflections with I > 3 σ (I). The structure contains an unusual confacial bioctahedral Mo 2O 9 cluster with a Mo Mo bond.
