Abstract

ABSTRACT The article consists of a collection of observations which the author has made, over the years, about the teaching of the first course in elementary probability and statistics offered by many colleges and universities. A highlight of the article is the so-called Goldberg Method for solving problems in probability and statistics. The goal of the article is that of simplifying, clarifying, and unifying, for instructors as well as students, the concepts of probability and statistics.
