Abstract

Refugee crisis which comes forth as a big problem in these days is not a new question. Especially, after the first and second world war, millions of people had been forced to leave their country as refugees and this problem has been continued today. The main reason behind the refugee crisis is the civil war in a country or wars between states. Many European countries either close their borders or accept few refugees in the face of this problem. Such approaches deepen the refugee crisis and would not be solution. In this study, it has been claimed that taking this kind of measures does not solve this problem and it violates the basic human rights. It will be suggested that the refugee crisis basically could be solved by means of the idea of cosmopolitanism which was first used by Stoic philosophy in the history of philosophy and then improved by Immanuel Kant who is one of the main philosophers of enlightenment philosophy.
