Abstract

The untidal estuarine systems are also referred to as transitional waters and the Baltic Sea in one of the biggest. The study of smaller estuaries in order to know patterns of river input in the Baltic Sea reveals a complicated system. Two similar mixing zones exist within the complex transitional waters of the Pregolya River – Vistula Lagoon – Baltic Sea system, meaning two areas of nutrients and possible contamination deposition. The multi-proxy cluster analysis, based on the detailed survey, was performed in order to spot two mixing zones and to forecast their migration upstream and downstream.
