Abstract

AbstractFractal obstacles with different geometric parameters based on Murray's law were designed. The obstacles were placed in T‐channels to disturb the flow of fluids. The influence of channel symmetry or asymmetry, branch angles, and the number of levels of obstacles on the mixing performance was studied. The mixing efficiency and pressure drop of the micromixers were calculated in the range of Reynolds numbers of 0.1–150, and the fluid flow in the microchannels was analyzed. The simulation results show that the fractal obstacles can generate chaotic convection in the microchannel of the micromixer and improve the mixing efficiency.
