Abstract

The observational indicators of mixing in the solar radiative interior, and the known mechanisms for mixing are reviewed critically. It is concluded that the three most important indicators, Li-depletion, the neutrino discrepancy and the internal rotation, probably each have a different, rather than a common origin. The low internal rotation is interpreted as a strong evidence for the presence of a weak magnetic field in the core of the sun.
