Abstract

System level designs incorporate digital analog and considerable mixed signal components. With systems growing in size and complexity, AMS HDLs become increasingly important for modeling and simulation of entire mixed signal, mixed technology systems. The size of those systems often becomes prohibitively large for analog simulation. Moreover, strong nonlinear behavior shown in most complex systems makes their accurate modeling and efficient simulation a skillful art. In this paper we analyze some important aspects of mixed signal simulation and present possible resolutions for issues raised. The focus is on the effect of HDL definitions on simulation behavior.
