Abstract
A four month old kid was presented to the department for necropsy with history of illness since few days and respiratory distress from two days. Necropsy examination revealed debilitated carcass and pale mucus membranes. Lung showed red hepatisation with frothy exudate in trachea, bronchi and lungs. Small intestine was completely blocked by tapeworms which were confirmed as Monenzia expansa, whereas one ninety round worm were recovered from caecum, which were confirmed as Trichuris spp. Grossly, intestine and caecum showed severe catarrhal enteritis and typhlitis, respectively. Histopathological examination of various organs revealed interstitial pneumonia in lung, severe enteritis with cut sections of tapeworm in intestine and typhlitis in caecum.
