Abstract

The article discusses pharmacopoeial methods principles for the polysaccharides analysis in crude herbal drugs (CHD) as well as pectoral species No. 1 (coltsfoot leaves 40%, marshmallow roots 40%, oregano herb 20%). Non-pharmacopeial methods are discussed with the rationale for their use for the qualitative and quantitative determination of both individual carbohydrates and the amount of polysaccharides in CHD.
