Abstract

Displacement reactions of chloroantimony(III) bis(dialkyl dithiocarbamates) with sodium dialkyl dithiophosphates in stoichiometric ratios in anhydrous benzene yielded mixed bis(dialky1 dithiocarbamate) dialkyl dithiophosphates of antimony(III) of the type (XCS2)2SbS2P(OR)2 (where, X = N(CH3)2, N(C2H5)2, N(CH2)4; R = n-Pr, i-Pr, n-Bu and i-Bu). These derivatives are yellow crystalline solids which are soluble in common organic solvents like benzene, chloroform, carbon tetrachloride etc. Spectroscopic studies (IR, 1H and 31P NMR) indicate the bidentate behaviour of both the dithiocarbamate and dithiophosphate moieties of these complexes.
