Abstract

The reaction of Na9[α-B-SbW9O33]·19.5H2O with Na2MoO4 results in the formation of new mixed W/Mo polyanions, isolated as various salts, (Me2NH2)11Na[Sb2Mo4W16O70(MoO2)]·17H2O (1a) and (Me4N)6Na5[Sb2Mo3.5W16.5O70(MoO2)1.5]·27H2O (2). Both 1a and 2 were characterized by XRD, XRPD, IR, Raman spectra and elemental analysis. According to HPLC-ICP-AES, both 1a and 2 equilibrate in aqueous solutions with the constituent {SbM9} anions.
