Abstract

Rhabdomyomas are by far the most common primary heart tumors in infants and children. 1 Usually they are multiple and have preference for the interventricular septum and adjacent ventricular wall. 2 In symptomatic patients, approximately 70% have an intracavitary rhabdomyoma with obstruction to blood flow in at least 1 cardiac chamber. 1,3 Left ventricular outflow obstruction by rhabdomyoma as the dominant clinical feature is extremely rare. Only 3 cases have been documented 3–5. The present report documents another case with successful surgical resection.
