Abstract
Myxomatous valvular degeneration, myxomatous transformation, mucoid degeneration, chronic valvular disease, degenerative valvular disease – all designate the same lesions at the mitral level. Myxomatous degeneration of the mitral valve is the most common heart disease found in dogs and is mostly found in small dog breeds.
