Abstract
Objectives: Dysplasia of the Fibrous Sheath (DFS) is an anomaly found in spermatozoa of severe asthenozoospermic patients. Hypertrophy and hyperplasia of the fibrous sheath is the main characteristic. It is well known those cellular structures like microtubules; mitochondria sheaths and outer dense fibers are distorted in this particular pathology. We studied the percentage of distortions and incidence of anomalous mitochondrial sheaths associated with complete and incomplete forms of DFS. Abnormalities were analyzed in two groups of patients with complete and incomplete forms of DFS.
