Abstract
In the communication sector, large amount of data needs to be transmitted very quickly with an increasing user demand. To accommodate these demands, single carrier system leaves their place to multiple carrier systems. In Orthogonal Frequency Division Modulation—Multiple Input and Multiple Output (MIMO-OFDM) system, the major problem is the Phase Noise (PN) which yields multiplicative phase distortion in both the up conversion and down conversion. Schemes (MIMO-OFDM) system. Nevertheless, MIMO-OFDM system may degrade from its performance due to the different interferences through the channel and the signal with high Bit Error Rate (BER). To solve this issue, a Channel Estimation (CE) method is to be introduced at the receiver of the MIMO-OFDM. For channel estimation, modified Sparsity Adaptive Matching Pursuit (SAMP) and Hilbert fast SAMP is implemented as existing system to reduce BER but the number of backward iteration increases. To reduce the iteration and more complexity in HF-SAMP, hybrid matrices such as Riemann, Hilbert, Hermitian matrices are performed in this proposed CE method. Also, Minimum Mean Square Error (MMSE) and Least Square (LS) are implemented to reduce the phase noise. Hence, the performance of the channel estimation is measured and shows the simulated results that are analyzed in terms of BER and Mean Square Error (MSE).KeywordsPhase noiseMIMO-OFDMChannel estimationBERMMSELSHF-SAMP
