Abstract

The aim of this paper is to investigate the mitigation of the overvoltage fluctuation in a MV distribution feeder line with high levels of installed PV plant. The general techniques used to control the overvoltage fluctuation are reactive power control and active power curtailment. In this paper, two cosΦ(P) reactive power control methodologies are reviewed at the far and near end of a 66 kV radial feeder line network. The results are compared for these two methodologies together with the unity power factor control mode at each node.
