Abstract
Pseudomonas syringae pv. panici should be considered invalid because the pathovar epithet panici refers to a xanthomonad. Pseudomonas strain NCPPB 1498 (ATCC 19875) should be listed as an unknown strain belonging to the Ps. syringae group of organisms.
