Abstract

The external Dorsal cherty limestones and breccias of Sinemurian-Pliensbachian age, that crop out near Tetouan, correspond to various facies, deposited by low, middle and high density turbidity currents and gravity flows along carbonate slopes. They are closely related to early Tethyian rifting movements, which began in the Hettangian age and continued until the Toarcian-Aalenian.
