Abstract

A reconductible pulse former, having a resolving time of 10 ns is described; the width of the shaped pulse is adjustable between 100 ns and 2 μs. The purpose of this shaping unit is to obtain in anticoincidence arrangements a gating efficiency of 100%, even at high counting rates. On the other hand this circuit can act, in a simple disposition, as an isolated pulse selector and can solve certain pile-up rejection problems. The operation of the device is described and some examples of its use are given.
