ABSTRACT Demonstration of a ‘tissue factor’ acting in the morphogenesis of the tracheal system in the dip ter an insects In an attempt to examine the factors acting during the morphogenesis of the tracheal system in the Diptera (Calliphoridae), various experiments were performed in larvae and pupae so as to modify the relations between the organs and their tracheal supply. The results are as follows :
