Abstract
The confrontation of the manuscript Paris, BnF, fr. 926 with the Glorieux’s edition of the sermon Vivat rex written by Jean Gerson could reveal some misreading of the modern editor. The variants from the French 926 (checked on all the extant manuscripts) bring particularly to light a new “face” of the text, probably closer of the author’s words and of the Gerson’s predication. This new assessment of the textual tradition leads to think that a new critical edition is unavoidable to give an accurate access to one of the more important political texts of the Fifteenth-Century.
