Abstract

The miscibility behaviour of poly(2-bromoethyl methacrylate) (PBEMA) with poly(styrene-co-acrylonitrile) (SAN) and poly( p-methylstyrene-co-acrylonitrile) ( pMSAN) was investigated using differential scanning calorimetry. PBEMA is miscible with SAN having acrylonitrile (AN) contents between 10 and 58 wt% and with pMSAN having AN contents between 14 and 61 wt%. The miscibility of these blends was explained by the binary interaction model and the various segmental interaction parameters were evaluated.
