Abstract

Background: A52 year old female who was diagnosed as Young Onset Parkinson's Disease (YOPD) at the age of 31 years, developed severe L-dopa induced dyskinesias. She had been taking Amantadine 200 mg/day since the past 12 years, later the dose had been increased to 300mg/day. After three months, the patient complained of visual symptoms, and had developed a painless, progressive and bilateral corneal edema. The patient could not afford DBS as an alternative to these medications. Ultimately, Amantidine was stopped, and post cessation of the drug, the dyskinesias worsened.
