Abstract

Mirohelminthosporium is proposed as a new genus for Helminthosporium bigenum, characterized by polytretic and blastic conidial ontogeny on the apical conidiogenous cells. A replacement name, Helminthosporium matsushimae, is proposed for the illegitimate later homonym H. cylindrosporum Matsush.
