Abstract

Objectives: In the heart, miR-146a is upregulated upon activation of NF-κB, a transcription factor induced by proinflammatory cytokines that is associated with the pathogenesis of heart failure, cardiac hypertrophy and atherosclerosis. The main goal of this study consisted in investigating the potential role of miR-146a in the pathological processes induced by TNF-α in the heart.
