Abstract
The authors relate the Hitchin correspondence (1982) between minitwistor spaces and Einstein-Weyl spaces to the Penrose correspondence between twistor spaces and spacetimes with anti-self-dual Weyl tensor. They show explicitly how to obtain an Einstein-Weyl space from such a spacetime with a conformal Killing vector and provide some examples. They also relate the converse problem to the solution of a generalised monopole equation.
