Abstract

The main aim of this study is to throw light on and to help live the ministry of reconciliation and forgiveness in the perspective of the 21st century. The first part of the article therefore reminds us of how the God of the Bible, the God of reconciliation and of forgiveness reveals himself to us and how he acts; the second part sums up how the Church has exercised this ministry of reconciliation and forgiveness throughtout its history; the third part seeks to concretise how, in the author's opinion, this ministry can and should be exercised. The author is convinced that this is one of the most important tasks that God has entrusted to us and that is one of the best witnesses we can offer to our world, divided as it is by selfishness, hatred, injustice and war.
