Abstract

This miniseminar will present an open forum discussion on the management of several interesting and challenging cases of controversial management. Pathology ranging from chronic rhino sinusitis, noninvasive and invasive fungal disease, lateral mucoceles of the frontal and sphenoid sinus, and skull base lesions including CSF rhinorrhoea, encephaloceles of the frontal and sphenoid sinus, and benign and malignant tumors. Multimedia video clips of intraoperative situations, such as intraoperative CSF leaks, orbital injury, retro-orbital hemotoma, anterior ethmoid artery trauma, medial rectus injury, will be presented and their management discussed. Digital video clips of how these “situations” were managed will be presented. A case presentation format presented in form of multimedia will be used. CT, MRI scans, and endoscopic slides will be complemented with intraoperative video clips and post-operative results. Audience interaction by a touch pad response system will be encouraged. The panel is chosen to provide a worldwide viewpoint of management of sinus pathology and intraoperative situations. About 10–12 interesting cases will be presented.
