Abstract
Weblog is unstructured data and therefore mining relevant information from weblog is a very challenging task. Present study proposes a Rare Itemset Mining from Weblog Data (RIMWD) algorithm to extract rare itemset. Most of the algorithms follow a bottom-up strategy, but those strategies are only suitable for discovering frequent itemsets. In contrast RIMWD algorithm is a top–down breadth-first level-wise algorithm to identify all the rare itemsets and their subsets. RIMWD adopts power set lattice strategy and it is the top and bottom levels of the lattice that contains full set and empty set respectively. The proposed RIMWD algorithm was compared with the state-of-the-art algorithms for generating rare itemset.
