Abstract

We establish the link between minimum-error discrimination of two pure states and wave particle duality in two-path interferometers. In particular, the upper bound of the probability of success discrimination is derived directly from the corresponding duality relation. It is already known that quantum state discrimination can produce wave particle duality relations, here we show the converse is also true: Wave particle duality can be used to obtain information about state discrimination.
