Abstract

The motivation behind Cognitive Radio (CR) is to secure the transmission of primary (licensed) user in the existence of secondary (unlicensed) users in the similar spectral territory. Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM) is a best candidate for Dynamic Spectrum Sensing (DSA), because of flexible spectrum shaping. However, main problem of using OFDM in cognitive radio is high Out Of Band (OOB) radiation that cause interference with neighboring user. Different techniques for the reduction of OOB radiation have been proposed, but it may cause inefficient use of spectrum due to insertion of Cancellation Carriers (CCs). Generalized Sidelobe Canceller (GSC) is updated method to minimize the OOB without insertion of CCs. GSC consist of two branches the signal come out from these branches of GSC gives significant minimization in the sidelobes power. This paper presents the performance of multiple GSC cascaded in serial. The simulation results show better reduction in the power of sidelobes as compared to single GSC and other traditional methods.
