Abstract

The range resolution and the accuracy of range measurement in a pulsed radar depend on the RF pulse width and rise time. The pulse gets distorted by a slotted waveguide antenna due to transit time of the pulse from one end (feed point) to the other of the antenna and the variation of conductance of each slot with frequency. The distortion deteriorates the range resolution and the accuracy of range measurement. Therefore, it is very important to minimize the distortion in a long slotted waveguide antenna, where the effect is more noticeable. Such a minimization is carried out. >
