Abstract

Objective To explore practicability and clinic results of the minimally invasive pereutaneous plate osteosynthesis technique on treating the humeral fracture. Methods Twenty - eight patients with humeral fracture, 14 cases of them caused by traffic accident,6 cases by sport injury and 8 by life injury, underwent the minimally invasive percutaneous plate osteosynthesis operations, and 22 eases of them were male and 6 were female with an age arranged from 16 to 72 years. Of 28 cases, 18 cases were proximal hnmeral fractures and 10 eases were mid - distal humeral fractures while 3 were multiple injuries and one was pathological fracture. Results The average intra -operation time was 80 minutes(attanged from 55 to 130 minutes), and every patient didn't undergo the blood transfusion with 1(30-200 ml intea- operation blood loss. 28 eases had follow- up of 8 weeks -14 months, the cuts healed during the primary procedure with good shoulder and elbow functions, the fracture segments got satisfied reductions with good apposition and alignment radiologically, and the callus appeared in 4 -8 weeks post -operation. Conclusion Minimally invasive poreutaneous plate osteosynthesis is a safe and effective treatment for the humeral fracture with the benefits of less invasive, less complications and less nonunion. Key words: Minimally invasive; Plate fixation; Humeral fracture; Osteosynthesis
