Abstract

The fourth-order modified Schrodinger equation due to the generalised uncertainty principle is considered in one dimension with a box problem. The factorisation of fourth-order self-adjoint differential equations is then discussed and thereby the wave functions and energy spectra of the modified Schrodinger equation are derived.
