Abstract

From a general point of view, the problem of the optimization with respect to bending plastic collapse is studied for mono and bidimensional structures, subjected to fixed or variable loads. The conditions of existence and uniqueness of the solutions and those for the dual problem formulation are found. The mathematical properties enable us to point out some physical aspects of the problem. Some remarks on the beam and plate cases follow. At last the possible numerical applications are mentioned, pointing out their formal aspects.
