Abstract

In this paper, a microstrip low pass filter (LPF) with ultra-wide stopband, low insertion loss and compact size is introduced in this work. The designed LPF is composed of two open stubs and different patterns etched in the ground plane (three bowties and two rectangles). The proposed LPF has good performances in terms of insertion loss (less than 0.1 dB), return loss (less than 17.1 dB), wide stopband at −20 dB suppression level ranging from 5 GHz up-to 20 GHz and dimensions of 29×9.2 mm2 compared to previous published works.
