Abstract

This paper presents a compact semi-hexagonal aperture shape antenna (SHASA) with the modified elliptical ground for a cellular vehicle to everything (C – V2X) application. The proposed antenna is designed using an FR4 substrate with a dielectric constant of 4.4 and a loss tangent of 0.02. The performance of the antenna was measured in terms of return loss, VSWR, Gain, Directivity, Radiation pattern, and Radiation efficiency. Based on the simulation results, the antenna achieves the resonating frequency of 5.8GHz with a return loss of -63.6dB. The maximum gain and radiation efficiencies are 2.31dB and 94.3%. The proposed antenna novelties utility in Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) for vehicular communication using Cellular – V2X technology comes under the IEEE 802.11p band.
