Abstract

A circular polarized (CP) of the planar inverted-F antenna (PIFA) is designed for wireless communication. The compact metallic geometrical cross branch embedded and shorted on the one corner of the ground plane. It is a different technique for improving the various performance parameters of the antenna, that is, narrow bandwidth, size reduction and the axial ratio (AR). The structure of CP PIFA is designed, analyzed and geometrically optimized of the antenna to operate at 2.4 GHz WLAN bands. Finally, a prototype is analyzed and simulated by means of the full 3D electromagnetic simulator HFSS. The performed impedance bandwidth of designing antenna S11 simulated −10 dB impedance bandwidth is 500 MHz (2.24-2.74 GHz) 20.83%, simulated −3 dB axial ratio bandwidth is 630 MHz (2.04-2.67 GHz) 26.25% and the realized gain is 3.34 dB with respect to 2.4 GHz WLAN bands.
